NEET Exam Pattern

According to the NEET exam pattern, the duration of paper based tests (PBT) is 200 minutes or 3 hours and 20 minutes. There are 200 objective type multiple choice questions, out of which a candidate has to attempt only 180 questions. These questions are further divided into 50 questions each for Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany (Biology) sections. Every Section is further divided into Section A & B.

Every Section A contains 35 Questions, whereas every Section B contains 15 questions. Within every Section B, candidates only need to answer 10 questions each. All questions in every Section A are compulsory.

Each examination question is awarded four marks, and one mark is deducted per any wrong answer. The exam pattern helps us greatly in demarcating the NEET chapter wise weightage. The following table brings the detailed structure of the exam

NEET 2025 Syllabus

The NEET Syllabus was revamped recently, which led to a lot of topics being removed from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for NEET 2025. This also meant that the Chapter Wise Weightage for NEET 2025 would have a very different outlook. Here is how the updated NEET syllabus looks like-
